Our first meeting of the semester is tomorrow at 320 in the cafeteria

First, Ben Steinberger from Katie Hill for Congress will be speaking about her campaign and will have internship opportunities.

Then John Griffin, chair of the Ventura County Democratic Party, will be speaking about local and national issues.

Both will be taking any questions you may have!

(Moorpark) Dems - Can you help give out N95 masks to farmworkers tomorrow? Folks are meeting at 8am at the MICOP office at 520 W 5th St. in Oxnard.

We also are in need of bulk packs of masks, most local stores have already run out! You can donate directly at the link I posted below.

Our next meeting will be this Tuesday at 4 pm in FH 211. This will also be our last official meeting of the semester.

We will have the field director for Katie Hill for Congress come and talk about her campaign.

In addition, we will discuss meeting times for next semester as well as planning an end of the year social.

I want to apologize:

I had originally started this club with a lot of goals in mind, but I was a little too ambitious.

Therefore I wasn't able to follow through with a lot of the promises I made, most notably the benefit concert that was supposed to be held at the beginning of next month.

I had never organized a big event prior to this, and I didn't plan accordingly.

I thought I could do 90% of the work in only a month and a half and be able to pull it off. I did not prepare for the numerous variables that come with planning an event like this.

I take 100% responsibility for not being able to follow through with promises made.

I'm still going into the next semester with a positive attitude. We will be meeting once a week so we will be able to accomplish much more than this semester.

We have an amazing dedicated group of 10-15 people who come to every meeting and offer any support that they can, which has exceeded my expectations, especially this early on, and I could not be more grateful for that.

We have one more meeting for this semester: this Tuesday December 5th at 4pm in Fountain Hall room 211. We will also try to host a social before winter break starts.

We are super grateful to have had Christy Smith come and speak to our club last meeting about pressing issues like health care and getting more young people involved in politics.

We were more than happy to unanimously endorse her for the Assembly District 38 race! She is a fantastic leader and will be a great addition to the legislature.
