The City of Moorpark will be hosting two AmeriCorps Lead for America Fellows in the City Manager’s Office next fiscal year, and recruitment is now underway!

This is a great opportunity for graduating seniors, recent college graduates, or current master’s students interested in:
📣 Communications
🤝 Public outreach
🏛️ Local government service
🌟 Community engagement

Over the course of the 10-month fellowship, Fellows will work alongside City staff on meaningful local projects, help connect residents with important programs and information, and gain hands-on experience in public service.

Fellows will receive:
✨ Professional mentorship and leadership training
✨ Real-world communications and community outreach experience
✨ Salary and healthcare benefits covered by AmeriCorps
✨ CalPERS retirement credit option
✨ Education award of up to $7,500
✨ Student loan forbearance, access to childcare benefits, and more

The program commitment runs from September 2026 through July 2027.

The City of Moorpark will be hosting two AmeriCorps Lead for America Fellows from September 2026 through July 2027!

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are finishing their senior year of college, recently graduated from college, or are currently enrolled in a master’s program and are interested in communications, public outreach, community engagement, and local government service.

Over the course of the 10 month fellowship, Fellows will gain hands-on experience working alongside City staff, supporting a variety of local projects and initiatives, and helping connect residents with meaningful programs, services, and information. This FT fellowship also includes professional mentorship, leadership training, networking opportunities, salary and benefits covered by AmeriCorps, a CalPERS retirement credit option, and an education award of up to $7,500.
