Congratulations to Lindsay Schock for completing the most recent DSP Ambassador program with ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources!

Lindsay is an awesome DSP who was selected for this program that brings together Direct Support Professionals from across the country to advocate for the important work DSPs do and to help shape national conversations around disability services.

This year's program was held in Salt Lake City, and Lindsay took part in training sessions designed to strengthen her storytelling, advocacy, and media engagement skills along with 17 other ambassadors.

Thank you for all you do, Lindsay, and we are so grateful to have you on our team!

Such a great accomplishment for David, and we are so proud of him!

There are a variety of ways you can jump in and make this event successful!

Set-Up & Tear-Down: Organizing dresses, and displays, setting up rooms, and packing everything away afterward
Check-In Table: Greeting people, helping them get signed in, and explaining how Prom Shop works
Shopping Assistants: Helping people browse, pick out outfits, and carry items to fitting areas
Fitting Room Support: Bringing items to/from fitting rooms and helping keep everything organized
Dress Organization: Re-hanging, sorting, and keeping racks tidy throughout the event

Do you want a job where know you make a difference every day?

We're hiring a full-time Residential Coordinator in our Options department, which offers tailored services to people with disabilities who need less-than-24-hour care. You'll help oversee and deliver care, manage team members and create a positive atmosphere for independence.

CCRI is a great place to work, and we are looking for passionate, driven people who want to make a difference. If that's you, learn more at the link below!

A simple note left out to see. A big step in moving forward with confidence each day.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and one of our Mental Health Practitioners came across this note in a client's home recently. Wins come in all shapes and sizes in our Mental Health Program, and this small act had a large impact on this person's approach to self-compassion and skill development.

Our Mental Health Program supports more than 250 people in our community, acting as boots on the ground to help these people keep their hope, cope with their challenges and develop skills that will help them live a full, independent life no matter what their mental health looks like.

Success is as varied as the people we support. This past year, we helped clients celebrate:
• Reaching two years of sobriety
• A move to an apartment after years in foster care
• The adoption of an animal
• Giving birth
• Making an important doctor’s appointment
• Doing a 5k
• Getting a manicure for the first time in years
• Being able to buy a coffee and sit down peacefully after years of struggling to be in public places
• Getting a vehicle
• Being able to cope with a high stress situation

It's work that is incredibly important and valuable and often goes unnoticed, partially because of the stigma of mental health. So we want to say thank you to our mental health team and challenge our community to help us shine a light on the powerful and critical services they provide. Thank you!

We're looking for some help with our prom wishlist!

Our annual prom is a favorite event for many of the people we support. It's a night of fancy clothes, good friends, dancing and fun! And it takes a team effort to ensure everyone has the best experience they can.

You can be part of that team, too! We have an Amazon Wishlist with items that we need to help it make a great night. You can purchase items and send them directly to our office, or drop them off yourself and say hello!

Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3L1J7ZF27AA5P?ref_=wl_share&fbclid=IwY2xjawRywt5leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFvOEZ3UXlTTlF4bnRtcGVYc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHvLSGDYgWkCybapuARp4tRP9L20K7s6Nt7qiw3U7semNjpDojRqa4hlCh3zk_aem_Jb7o_6ysAR-RejOTSlZCog
