Thank you so much to the group of volunteers from Gate City Bank who helped make our recent Prom shop a success!

Each year we hold our Prom shop to allow the people we support to browse dresses and suits, try them on and ultimately pick out an outfit for Prom that will make them feel beautiful and confident on that night.

It's a big undertaking, and the Gate City Bank volunteers helped get the shop set up, attended to people arriving and helped put everything away again.

The folks we support love the opportunity to shop for Prom, which is also one of our favorite nights of the year. Gate City Bank volunteers have helped us bring this experience to life for many years, and we couldn't be more thankful!

We are so excited to share that two of our DSPs, Karen Knutson and Kathryn Dalton, are nominated for ARRM Cares Awards!

Karen approaches every situation with a proactive, positive, and collaborative approach. She arrives at every shift with a productive mindset and is consistently finding ways for our clients to be part of activities we host. Karen was also instrumental in ensuring two of the people we support who have been friends since childhood were able to keep their friendship strong when one of them received a terminal diagnosis.

Kathryn is a caregiver who is deaf, and she has shown exceptional professionalism while working with our clients who are also deaf. She is active in a local deaf, hard of hearing, and ASL group and has helped our clients get connected to this group and other resources in the area, helping them grow and reach their goals.

Congratulations for being nominated! This is so deserved, and we appreciate your work very much!

ARRM is so excited to share our finalists for the 2026 ARRM Cares Award and Rising Star Awards! The ARRM Cares Award recognizes direct support professionals (DSPs) from ARRM members who demonstrate a commitment to quality services.

Our finalists will be recognized at the ARRM Forward Conference on July 15, and winners will be announced during DSP Week in September. Thank you to all of the organizations who nominated outstanding DSPs, and congratulations to the finalists and all those nominated!

Congratulations to Lindsay Schock for completing the most recent DSP Ambassador program with ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources!

Lindsay is an awesome DSP who was selected for this program that brings together Direct Support Professionals from across the country to advocate for the important work DSPs do and to help shape national conversations around disability services.

This year's program was held in Salt Lake City, and Lindsay took part in training sessions designed to strengthen her storytelling, advocacy, and media engagement skills along with 17 other ambassadors.

Thank you for all you do, Lindsay, and we are so grateful to have you on our team!

Such a great accomplishment for David, and we are so proud of him!

Shopping Assistants: Helping people browse, pick out outfits, and carry items to fitting areas
Fitting Room Support: Bringing items to/from fitting rooms and helping keep everything organized
