Today, three members from Station 31 took a big leap towards bettering themselves, our station and our department by going through a promotional process. This process was to promote and develop a list for future promotions for the rank of Lieutenant. Good luck gentlemen and great job!

Today Madison Township Fire Department took delivery of 3 new Zoll Cardiac Monitors along with 15 Zoll AEDs. This equipment was made possible by your Madison Township Trustee -Scott McDonough and the Township advisory Board (Amy Russell, James Johnson, and Larry Ellis) all voting in favor of a lease program to purchase this equipment.

This equipment is replacing equipment up to 14 years in age, older than the average life expectancy of a standard automobile. The Madison Township EMS Director (Margo Houston) identified a need to replace our current monitors and AEDs to continue providing the same great level of service to the citizens of Madison Township.

After working tirelessly to obtain this equipment through grants and not being selected, Director Houston began negotiating and collecting bids to secure the best deal for the equipment we received today. Thank you Director Houston (not pictured below) and all crews for your tireless efforts to provide our citizens with a great and effective service.

We would like to take a second and recognize one of our owns accomplishments and congratulate him. Congratulations to Lieutenant Quinten Humbarger on his recent promotion to the rank of Captain. He has worked hard to get to this position and we look forward to his leadership and positive changes he will bring. He has assumed the roll of Station Captain for our northern Station 32. Once again Congratulations Captain Humbarger!

It is with a very heavy heart that I type this message. But our brothers to our west that we work very closely with, lost their Chief yesterday. This man had a positive impact on so many people inside and outside of firefighting. He was a great man, leader, mentor, father, husband and friend. He will be deeply missed. I ask that all who read this please say a prayer to all of his friends and family. RIP Chief Medsker

It is hard to put into words today how everyone is feeling. The world has lost another beautiful soul too soon. Fire Chief Tim Medsker was many things. Among these he was a comedian, a role model, an exceptional leader , and above all, a devoted and loving husband and father. These are just a few things that made Chief Medsker who he was. He could light up any room with his jokes and will be forever missed around the firehouse. Please keep all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Although he has left this world too early, his legacy will live on forever.
