CR at Southside

CR at Southside The purpose of CR is to celebrate God's healing power in our lives. Check the About section for info! This experience allows us to be changed.

The purpose of Southside's Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 8 recovery principles found in the Beatitudes and the Christ-centered 12 steps. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with each other. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems. By working the Christ-ce

ntered 12 steps and applying their biblical principles found in the Beatitudes, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and, most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the principles and the steps, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ. If you are struggling or if you are living in an environment with others who are struggling with unhealed, unmet or unresolved problems we invite you to fellowship with us every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm in Southside's fellowship hall. We have complete, open access to the presence of God, 24/7, as His children. It’s not based on anything we’ve done. It’s based solely on what Jesus has done on our behalf. And we are encouraged to come to God in confidence because of it!

This past Sunday, I explored Luke 18 and explained how we can come to the Lord with all of our needs and trust that He cares about them all. Not only does He care about our problems, He is bigger than them and invites us to overcome them with Him.

How do you welcome and support someone who made it to nine months and relapsed? You embrace them in a way that’s comfortable for the relationship and their need. You share truth and the love of Jesus.

✔️Acknowledge where they are in this moment.
✔️Encourage that "right now" is always time to begin again.
✔️Affirm that no matter where hurts, habits and hang ups take us- we can always come home to Jesus.🙌

I experienced this yesterday and walked away with a few reminders myself.
💡 God doesn't move and He doesn't close His wide open arms; we do.
💡Just like God is not finished with the relapsed person yet, neither is He finished with you or me.
💡Right now is always a good time to seek His will in areas we struggle.

I encourage you to look for little reminders of His big things today. 🧡
