🚒 Frontline Feature 🚒
This week, we’re proud to feature Firefighter Jordan Russell.
Jordan is a lifelong Mooresville resident and has dedicated the last 22 years to the fire service. He currently serves as a dedicated part-time firefighter on A-Shift with the Mooresville Fire Department and is also a career firefighter with White River Township Fire Department on C-Shift.
Jordan has been married to his wife, Amy, for 14 years, and together they have three daughters: Tegan, Mealah, and Ryleigh. Their family is rounded out by Duke the dog and three cats—Willow, Winston, and Wallen.
Jordan began his career in public safety at an early age and has spent most of his professional life serving in Fire and EMS. Throughout his career, he has also worked as a truck driver and correctional officer, gaining valuable experiences that have helped shape his work ethic and dedication to service.
When asked what he enjoys most about the job, Jordan’s answer was simple: the people. Whether helping someone through one of the worst days of their life, working alongside a great crew, or being part of the fire service brotherhood and sisterhood, the relationships built through this profession are what make it so rewarding.
One of the biggest challenges Jordan faces is balancing the demands of shift work with family life. Long hours, holidays, and time away from home can be difficult, but the support of his family makes it possible. He also believes one of the greatest challenges—and rewards—is finding a way to brighten someone’s day during their darkest moments.
Outside of the firehouse, Jordan enjoys bowling with fellow department members, building and customizing his Jeep, attending Jeep events, woodworking, and traveling with family and friends. Around the station, you’ll likely find him enjoying Pizza Fridays or Bang Bang Chicken.
Jordan’s advice for new firefighters is to always be present. Be the first up and the last down, make your crew better, and soak up knowledge from those around you. One day, you’ll have the opportunity to pass that knowledge on to the next generation.
For the community, Jordan wants you to know that your firefighters genuinely care about you and are committed to serving with professionalism, compassion, and dedication every day. He also encourages the community to continue supporting their firefighters by attending events, meetings, and standing with them when they need it most.
Thank you, Jordan, for your dedication to the fire service and your continued commitment to the citizens of Mooresville and the communities you serve.
