The Hardy County Commission was hard at it again, this time firing up the grill for the Hardy County Courthouse Employee Picnic held on June 11, 2026.

Commissioners spent the day cooking hamburgers and hot dogs as a small way to thank courthouse employees for their hard work and dedication to serving the citizens of Hardy County.

Good food, good company, and a little time to relax made for a great afternoon of appreciation and fellowship.

During the CCAWV Annual Conference at Stonewall Resort, attendees enjoyed a special fireside chat featuring Michael Benson, President of West Virginia University, hosted by Melanie Pagliaro, Executive Director of CCAWV.
Before the conversation began, guest speaker The Honorable Kris Warner, West Virginia Secretary of State, encouraged everyone to welcome President Benson in true WVU fashion.
What does "true WVU fashion" look like, you ask?
It looks like county commissioners and county staff from across West Virginia proudly standing together and singing "Take Me Home, Country Roads!"
No matter where we come from in the Mountain State, nothing brings West Virginians together quite like Country Roads.

The Hardy County Commission would like to let residents know that the new tax levy rates for the upcoming fiscal year have been set as required by state law.
These tax rates help pay for important county services such as public safety, emergency services, roads and infrastructure, parks and recreation, and other services that support our community.
The Commission is committed to keeping residents informed and providing clear information about county government and taxpayer-funded services.

At the Hardy Commission, we believe in being "happy to service." That commitment extends beyond the courthouse and into our community. Commissioner Workman was recently spotted serving ice cream at a local event, demonstrating that public service isn't just a job --it's a way of giving back and connecting with the people we proudly serve everyday.
