🐻 MONUMENT, WE NEED TO HAVE A TALK.
Yes, the bear is cute.
Yes, we know you want a picture.
Yes, we also agree that this particular bear is absolutely serving woodland model.
But please, for the love of all things reasonable, LEAVE THE BEAR ALONE.
We’ve had reports of a bear, or possibly a few bears, making the rounds through town. They may look adorable, but they are still wild animals with teeth, claws, and absolutely no interest in your neighborhood meet-and-greet.
🚫 Don’t approach it.
🚫 Don’t feed it.
🚫 Don’t follow it for a better photo.
🚫 Don’t let your dog go introduce itself.
🚫 And please do not assume, “It’s just a little bear.”
Give it plenty of space and let it move along.
You can admire the bear from a safe distance. We promise, the bear will survive without meeting you. And frankly, your odds of having a good day are probably better if you don't try.

Please call 911 only for emergencies, such as an immediate threat to human safety or a bear that has entered an occupied home.
Otherwise, give our furry visitors plenty of space and let them move along. No need to turn a wildlife sighting into a community event.
