It has been a privilege to serve as your Commonwealth's Attorney. Today I tendered my letter of resignation to the Board of Supervisors effective June 30, 2024. I have received the honor of being elected by the legislature to serve as the General District Court Judge for the Northern Neck and Essex and will begin that endeavor on July 1, 2024.

I am so thankful that the citizens have trusted me with this position for the past 12 years. It is truly hard to believe that much time has passed. My Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney, Chris Robison, will be appointed as interim Commonwealth's Attorney. He has worked for this office for almost 10 years and he will continue ensuring that cases are prosecuted in a fair and just manner and that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.

Thank you for your support over the years and while this chapter is closing, I am looking forward to continuing to serve my community and the entire Northern Neck.

Wishing you all a day fillled with love and joy!

A huge thank you to Hillary Pugh Kent for being the patron for this bill. I enjoyed speaking on behalf of the bill at the General Assembly and am so pleased that it will become law on July 1.

April 4th marked a joint win for Westmoreland Commonwealth’s Attorney Julia Sichol and Delegate Hillary Pugh Kent as Governor Glenn Youngkin signed off on HB 1256.

Prayers for comfort for the family of Teresa McDowney, including her law enforcement family. She was a wonderful lady who put her heart and soul into our animal shelter. Her dedication to our community will be missed.
