One year ago today, Charlie Kirk was assassinated for his beliefs and for the words he spoke.
It was a terrible, heartbreaking act and it still sits heavy. Many of us have spent this year praying for his wife Erika, their children, and for a country where our kids never have to fear speaking the truth.
Charlie lived Isaiah 6:8:
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying: ‘Who shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’”
That was one of his favorite verses. He didn’t just quote it. He lived it… on his show, on college campuses, registering neighbors to vote, and starting conversations about the future of this country with anyone who would listen.
We remember Charlie not only for how he died, but for how he lived: faith first, courage in public, and a willingness to go when he was called.
Today we pray for Erika and their children.
We pray for our own children and the generations after them.
And we keep showing up — at the precinct, at the school board, at the ballot box, and in everyday conversations so that free speech is not something we bury with the people who practiced it.
