CASA of the 7th Judicial District

CASA of the 7th Judicial District Court Appointed Special Advocates speak up for the best interests of abused and neglected children, helping to turn their world of hurt into one of hope.

We serve children in age from birth through 18 with 65% under age 11; 54% are female, and 46% are male. Nearly 80% of the children we serve suffer severe neglect; about a third suffer physical abuse; and 10-15% suffer sexual abuse. More than half suffer from more than one of these factors, and nearly half are also dealing with domestic violence. Almost 90% of the families are low income, and most

have issues that include substance abuse and mental illness. Some are dealing with development disabilities, others with generational abuse.

Hi friends!
We are looking to start a community garden at the Village on San Juan (our inter generational supportive housing program.)
The idea is to foster health, belonging, and food sovereignty.

To get started, we are looking for discounts or donations of up to 160 small bales, ( weed/pesticide free) Old bales are great as long as they’re not moldy.

Other needs-
Planting soil
Veg and flower starts
Shade cover (for plants and humans)
Gardening tools
Volunteer labor

We’re thrilled to announce that Village on San Juan has won the People’s Choice Award at the prestigious Housing Colorado Eagle Awards!

Developed by of the 7th Judicial District, this innovative Montrose project is a standout example of intergenerational supportive housing—bringing together young adults (18–25) and seniors (62+) to build community, share skills, and support one another.

A big congratulations to CASA of the 7th Judicial District, architect Doug McFarlane, and contractor for creating a model that’s changing lives—and making Montrose proud!
