Mrs. Zilker’s seventh grade science students are helping beautify Blue Mountain Middle School while getting to know one another.

Students displayed their “Get to Know You” activities from the first days of school, while practicing essential skills such as collaboration and communication. A great example of learning that extends beyond the classroom and helps build our school community.

Hendrick Hudson High School is proud to have student musicians achieve one of the highest accolades a High School musician can achieve. This year we have three young musicians who will attend the NYSSMA All State Music Festival. Seniors

Aydan Akhtar, Aaarti Rajasekar, seniors, and Junior Ava Mock will be members of the 2026 All State Mixed Choir.

Many High School musicians prepare all year to be adjudicated on their NYSSMA Solo. If the student receives a perfect score on a Level 6 NYSSMA Solo – (that’s the highest level), they are then recommended by the judge for NYSSMA All State Conference.

Today, our elementary school communities gathered in remembrance of September 11, 2001, honoring the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the first responders who continue to serve our communities.

For our students, September 11 is a part of our nation’s history that they are learning to understand through the stories and lessons shared with them. Today, they led the Pledge of Allegiance, participated in flag-raising ceremonies, and shared their own artwork and words recognizing local heroes and first responders, and what makes them heroes in their eyes.

Through moments like these, a new generation learns the importance of remembrance, gratitude, service and community.

🇺🇸 We will never forget.

Before our students returned to classrooms this week, members of the Hendrick Hudson Board of Education got a firsthand look at each of our schools and the progress of our ongoing capital projects. ⚓️🏫

On Monday, Superintendent Tromblee, Assistant Superintendent Segarra, Director of Facilities, Operations and Maintenance Anthony Merlini, and each of our building principals led the Trustees on a tour of all five schools.

Along the way, they saw the tremendous progress made on our capital projects, as well as the results of the hard work by our custodial teams to get classrooms, common areas and other learning spaces clean, safe and ready for students.

The tour also included spaces where work will continue this fall, including the new High School Music Suite, High School Library and Blue Mountain Middle School Learning Commons.

With critical services operational and learning spaces ready, the tour provided a final look at our buildings before students returned on Wednesday, as well as a preview of some of the exciting improvements still to come.

Take a look! 💙⚓

This week at BMMS, Ms. Ogewetsky’s 7th Grade Math class got right to work on their second day of school!

Students participated in team-building and problem-solving activities while putting their engineering skills to the test by designing and building the strongest Straw Towers. It was great to see our students collaborating, thinking creatively, and working together!

Welcome to HHHS to the Class of 2030! ⚓️

Before the first bell rang on a new school year, our newest Hendrick Hudson High School students had a chance to get a head start on their high school experience! 🍦⚓️

Last week’s Ninth Grade Ice Cream Social brought incoming freshmen together with Principal Lisa Martino Alves, our assistant principals, Superintendent Tromblee and other staff to connect, ask questions and get more comfortable with their new school. Students were also led on tours of HHHS by our Peer Leaders, helping them get familiar with the building and learn from students who already know the ropes.

Welcome to high school, Class of 2030! Enjoy the Labor Day weekend, Sailors. Next week, it’s full speed ahead! 💙⚓
