A few things to remember about Meals and Room Tax:
MRT is a gross receipts tax, so businesses pay on the total amount brought in, including delivery chargers, credit card surcharges, back of house fees, and other sources.

Businesses are required to give notice when the MRT or Alcoholic Beverages Tax is included in pricing.

And if a customer asks for an itemized bill, businesses are required to provide it.

Gentle reminder that today, Wednesday, April 15 is the filing deadline for your Vermont and federal personal income taxes. (File your Homestead Declaration or Renter Credit claim as well, as long as you're at it!)
