Think your child’s car seat is installed correctly? 🚗
After more than 4,000 car seat checks, one UVM Health expert says many families make the same mistakes.

We’re sharing simple, life-saving tips to help keep kids safe on the road:

✅ Tighten it up: Your car seat shouldn’t move more than 1 inch at the belt path.
✅ Skip the puffy coat: Bulky layers make harnesses less effective. Use thin layers instead.
✅ Don’t double up: Use either the seat belt or lower anchors – not both at the same time. And always use the tether for a forward-facing car seat.
✅ Don’t rush transitions: Use a seat that’s right for your child’s age and size. Beware of counterfeit seats that don’t meet safety standards.

Even experienced caregivers can benefit from a refresher. When it comes to safety, every detail matters.

"The 2025-2026 biennium ended with the fall of a gavel on Friday evening. With the close of those (very) heavy State House doors, a different kind of work begins. Legislators will hit the campaign trails. We here at VAHHS will be working with our members to implement the bills that have passed and prepare policy for next session."

In this week's Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems Update, "Legislative session comes to a close."

Breast reconstruction doesn’t always feel complete when surgery is over. For many breast cancer patients, the absence of the nipple-areola complex is a lasting reminder of what they’ve been through.

At University of Vermont Health, 3D nipple-areola tattooing offers a way to restore both appearance and confidence—often as one of the final steps in recovery.

Performed in a clinical setting, this specialized procedure is tailored to each patient’s body, helping create a natural, realistic result.

“Patients tell me they just want to feel ‘normal’ again,” says Jenn Ashline, PA-C.
