"We should think about who we can bring along as the next generation to be a part of the workforce. If we don't create viable pathways for people to participate....a holistic approach including education pathways, housing pathways, mentorship pathways...if we aren't intentional about creating those pathways, we end up in a spot that we are in now where in the next decade about 100,000 Vermonters will be reaching retirement age and the 25 to 45 age group [isn't large enough] to backfill those impending retirements."
