Every Idahoan deserves to make it home safely at the end of the night. Whether you’re heading home from a concert, a rodeo, a barbecue, or just a night out with friends, a sober ride home is one of the simplest ways to look out for yourself and the people around you. Planning ahead doesn’t have to be complicated, but it’s best to make that choice before you leave.

That plan looks different for everyone. Maybe it’s a designated driver, a rideshare, or crashing on a friend’s couch. Whatever it looks like, the habit of thinking ahead is what makes the difference. Impaired driving crashes don’t have to happen. When Idahoans look out for each other and plan ahead, more people make it home.

📓School starts this week!
That means its time to make a safety plan with your kids about getting back and forth to school.
🚶‍♀️‍➡️Identify the crosswalks and how to use them
🚌Go over the rules of riding the school bus and how to safely get on and off the bus
🚲discuss how to safely cross the street and look for vehicles while riding bikes to and from school
🚗Talk about getting in and out of the car at the drop off lanes and ALWAYS wearing your seatbelt to school
🥷Talk about stranger danger, who your child is safe to talk to and who to talk to incase of an emergency and you are not able to pick up your child

🚧 for ALL of the drivers out there, it's time to pay attention to those school zones, crosswalks, and Bus stop signs. Be on high alert for pedestrians.

A car crash can happen anytime and anywhere. "It's a short ride to school" is no excuse not to buckle up. Make your child's safety a priority and take the extra couple of seconds to make sure they are safely buckled in and in the right seat.
School is starting soon so be prepared.
