Happy Last Day of School!
We would like to recognize our two retirees at Montoursville Area High School, Social Studies teacher Mr. Hart and School Nurse Mrs. Hill.
Here is a little background on Mrs. Hill:
High School: Graduate of Montoursville Area High School. Go Warriors!!!
Colleges attended with degrees: Penn State University - BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), Lycoming College - School Nurse Certification
Jobs prior to MAHS: Divine Providence/Susquehanna Health. - Critical Care, Supervision, PRN, Same Day Services. While at MAHS - Clinical Instructor for Penn College Nursing and lab instructor and a per diem supervisor at Valley View Nursing Home.
Clubs advised: Montoursville Bible Club
Favorite/memorable events/activities you were a part of: The pep rally and talent show this year. Going to the State Championship game in baseball. I really enjoyed doing the display case for the different courts and getting to know the girls and guys involved in that.
Mrs. Hill trivia (Things that about her that most people don’t know!): I went skydiving 3 times. I went to Israel twice. I graduated from Penn State when they won their first National Championship in Football.

High School: Evanston Township High School, Evanston Illinois
Note: My senior graduating class was larger than all of MAHS.
Colleges attended with degrees:
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign: Bachelor's in psychology
Bucknell: Teaching Certificate
Penn State: Master's in history
Jobs prior to teaching at MAHS: One Half Year as a long-term sub at Loyalsock. One Half Year doing day-to-day subbing at different districts.
Courses taught at MAHS: US Cultures I and II (the old versions of American History and Civics), American History, AP Economics, an Academic Decathlon Course (twice), Computer Programming course in various forms, Math 9, Consumer Review Math, A PSSA Math Review Class, and Honors Algebra II
Clubs advised: Action, Academic Decathlon, and the Class of 2001.
Mr. Hart trivia: (Things that about him that most people don’t know!)
* I started following baseball at age 6 with the 1969 Cubs, so I learned to handle disappointment at an early age.
* I can catch an M&M in my mouth that's been dropped from 5 stories up (or at least I did when I was younger).
Thank you so much for all your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the students and staff of Montoursville Area High School! We appreciate everything you have done during your time here. Congratulations on your retirement and enjoy the extra free time you now have!
