There’s something special about the memories that never fade - the music that takes you back, the treats that bring a smile, and the simple moments that connect generations 🧡

This National Assisted Living Week, we’re celebrating “Shining Through the Years” by taking a trip down memory lane!

🎠 The sound and spectacle of a traveling carousel calliope organ brings back memories of fairs, festivals, and days gone by. There’s just something magical about hearing those familiar notes.

🍊 And, of course, who could forget Orange Julius? A classic treat that has been enjoyed for generations - refreshing, nostalgic - a delicious reminder that some things never go out of style.

These moments are more than just activities. They’re opportunities to remember, reminisce, share stories, laugh together, and pass memories from one generation to the next.

At The Meadows, we believe every resident has a story worth celebrating. Their memories, experiences, traditions, and laughter are what make our community so special.

As part of our National Assisted Living Week celebration, we put together photo memory boards filled with special moments from our residents’ lives. Family photos, milestones, vacations, celebrations, childhood memories, and everyday moments that hold a lifetime of meaning.

But the most special part hasn’t been putting the boards together - it’s hearing the stories behind the pictures 🥰 and how lucky are we to be able to sit back and listen as a resident’s face lights up while they tell us about a moment that meant everything to them.

These memory boards remind us that our residents are so much more than the person we know today. They have lived full, beautiful, interesting lives and they continue "Shining Through the Years"! 💕

During National Assisted Living Week, we’re celebrating this year’s theme, “Shining Through the Years,” by taking a look back at the moments, milestones, people, and places that have shaped our lives.

📸 Old photos bring stories to life - reminding us of the families we raised, the places we traveled, the careers we built, and the moments we never want to forget.

🖼️ Memory boards give us a chance to share those stories with others. Every photograph has a story behind it, and every story gives us another opportunity to learn something special about the person beside us.

This week (and every week), we celebrate the past, cherish the present, and look forward to the memories still waiting to be made.

This afternoon we kicked off National Assisted Living Week 2026 with a good ol fashion Ice Cream Social!

What better way to celebrate Grandparents Day than with our residents, their family members, and a classic sweet treat!

Our dining team did not disappoint and put together the biggest Sundae Bar we've ever seen 😳 Complete with.... waffle fries?? Yes - and our residents LOVED it!

As we celebrate National Assisted Living Week and this year’s theme, “Shining Through the Years,” we’re reminded that some of life’s sweetest moments are the ones that never go out of style.

Take ice cream, for example. 🍨

It’s a classic treat that has been enjoyed by generations - grandparents, parents, children, and now our residents. The flavors and toppings may change, but the joy of sitting down with a scoop (or two!) of your favorite ice cream is something we can all relate to.

At The Meadows, we love finding those simple moments that connect generations. A favorite flavor, a familiar song, a cherished tradition, or a shared laugh can bring people together, no matter their age.

Because shining through the years isn’t just about looking back - it’s about celebrating the experiences, traditions, and little joys that continue to bring us together today.

We Honor.

September 11, 2001, is a day our nation will never forget.

We take time to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who stepped forward, and recognize the courage, strength, and unity that followed one of the darkest days in our history.

Our residents carry decades of memories, and for many, September 11th is a day they remember exactly where they were and how they felt. Today, we share those memories, honor those who served, and teach future generations why we must never forget.
