Thank you to Chief 1-20 (Schramm) and Montoursville Fire Department for hosting tonight’s training utilizing our new Combat Ready Command Boards.

We’d like to thank Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Co. and Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Company for participating in tonight’s joint training focused on the Incident Commander’s Tactical Worksheet. Each department now utilizes the same command board shown in the photo below, creating a common framework for managing emergency incidents.

Chief officers from each department worked through multiple incident scenarios, discussing the effective use of the command board, implementation of tactical supervisors, accountability practices, and the expansion of operations during escalating incidents requiring multiple alarms.

The integration of these Combat Ready Command Boards will enhance fireground management through a standardized approach to command, control, and operational benchmarks. By speaking the same language and utilizing the same tools, our departments are better positioned to operate seamlessly together, improving efficiency, accountability, and ultimately the safety of both our responders and the communities we serve.

Training together today helps ensure we perform together when it matters most.

Members of Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Company attended an Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training at Williamsport Regional Airport this evening. This training included an in-depth classroom portion covering everything from tactics to foam suppressant agents used with aircraft fires. Then the training moved outside, where Station 19’s ARFF truck was used to attack fuel and engine fires. After that, the training went hands-on, with attendees utilizing a handline to attack engine, wing, landing gear, fuselage, and interior fires. This evolution was completed after firefighters knocked down all the fires and completed a zero-visibility search of the cargo area and removed 2 victims. We would like to thank the Williamsport Regional Airport and Station 19 for hosting this training.

Eldred Township Volunteer Fire Company assisted Plunketts Creek Township Fire Department with a working structure fire in the 13000 block of Route 87 Highway last night around 9:30 pm. Tanker 22 responded to the scene and began dumping its water into a portable tank, then transitioned to drafting water from the tank to supply fireground operations. When issues arose with the portable tank, Tanker 22 again transitioned and began shuttling water to the scene from a fill site further north on Route 87.
