Williamsport Regional Airport Fire / Rescue would like to thank a local organization for their generous donation of a new battery powered Stihl chain saw. This saw will be kept on Rescue 19 and came with 3 batteries, 2 chains, and rapid charger. Thanks again for your donation!!!

Last Friday Dave Stoner and Dave Dymeck spent time training on Rescue 19's bumper turret and structural pump with a 250 gallons per minute fog nozzle to see if they could get the full water flow. The truck easy met this flow out of the bumper turret. Normally, this truck has a variable gallonage 1 1/2" nozzle on the bumper turret for ARFF water and foam operations. This will give us more capability with this vehicle both on the airfield and providing mutual aid to our neighboring communities. We are constantly looking to improve our capabilities and training opportunities to support airfield operations and giveback to the residents of Lycoming County and surrounding area.

While testing Rescue 19 on Wednesday, we had a pleasant surprise from members of Lycoming County Dept. of Public safety. They came to present Irv Temple with his county retirement plaque and other gifts. Irv has spent many years at DPS, Williamsport Regional Airport, and Loyalsock Vol. Fire Co. and is a cherished wealth of knowledge and would like to thank him for his years of service to our communities.

Wednesday, members of Station 19 tested the foam system on Rescue 19. This cart allows us to test the system without flowing any foam. We are currently working toward converting all of our foam to the new F3 foam that is now on Engine 19.

This testing is done yearly to ensure proper operation of our firefighting systems.

Last night Station 19 was dispatched, mutual aid, to a Working Box in Loyalsock Township for a alarm sounding and possible smoke in a multi-family structure. Fortunately, Station 18 personnel arrived on scene and found no smoke or fire.
