How Friends supports the library:
Purchase of two new clocks for the library, a metal book cart, children's area play table, teen area table and booth, and a refrigerator for the staff. Funds for the Summer reading programs guest speakers from the Grout Museum, Blank Park Zoo, Storm Chasers, and Mad Science of Iowa. Provides refreshments at library programs. Volunteers organized and conducted the

Science Fun Day in July of 2014. Funds for an instructional DVD user fee for adult and children's acrylic painting class. Assisted library staff in preparing food for Downtown Abbey Tea, 2014. Funded the meals for the Library Committee meetings. How can you support Friends of the Library? Purchase an annual Friends membership
Donate money to the Friends in honor of a milestone or in memory of a loved one

When you become a Friend of the Ross and Elizabeth Baty Public Library, you will have the year-round satisfaction of knowing that your willingness to be a Friend enhances library services for the entire community. Expresses appreciation to library director, employees, and volunteers. It is only $10 to become a Friend of the Library Member. The $10 annual membership fee is effective January through December. Friends is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization. If you would like to become a member of the Friends of the Library fill out the membership form found at the front desk of the library.

The Monticello Public Library food pantry is stocked! If you're in need of any food assistance this winter, feel free to stop in during our open hours. A heartfelt thank you to our generous community members that have helped keep us stocked with the essentials.
