🌊 PEARL RIVER CLEAN SWEEP WEEK STARTS TOMORROW! 🌊

This Saturday is our annual Pearl River Clean Sweep, made possible by Atlas-SSI and sponsored by Georgia-Pacific and the Town of Monticello. But this year, we’re taking it a step further!

We’re kicking things off TOMORROW with our very first Pearl River Clean Sweep Week! 🎉
🏫 MONDAY’S CHALLENGE: Clean Campus 🔥 Lawrence County Schools — YOU’RE UP FIRST!
Teachers, Faculty, and Students let’s show our community what happens when we work together.

This morning, our community came together to walk in remembrance of the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001.

We were proud to have our JROTC students walking alongside Monticello and Lawrence County firefighters and members of our community, honoring those who served and sacrificed while carrying forward the promise to Never Forget.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today’s walk of remembrance so meaningful. ❤️🤍💙

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🔥 BIG NEWS FOR FIRE PROTECTION IN THE TOWN OF MONTICELLO! 🚒

A major investment in fire protection approved by the Lawrence County Board of Supervisors is expected to bring significant benefits directly to residents and businesses inside the Town of Monticello — at no additional cost to taxpayers.

One of the biggest benefits is the expected improvement in our fire grading rating inside the city limits. With that rating drop, Monticello homeowners and businesses would see a substantial decrease in fire insurance costs.

One of the additions will be a full-time Lawrence County firefighter at the Monticello fire station, adding another layer of support and strengthening emergency response here at home and throughout Lawrence County.

We’re thankful for the Lawrence County Fire Board, Lawrence County firefighters, our Monticello volunteer firefighters, and the Lawrence County Board of Supervisors for making this investment in the safety and future of our community.

🇺🇸 9/11 MEMORIAL WALK | FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 🇺🇸

The Town of Monticello invites our community to join the Monticello Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, and fellow first responders for a 9/11 Memorial Walk as we honor the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call.

📍 Monticello Fire Department – Station 1
⏰ Walk begins at 8:00 AM
🇺🇸 Please arrive by 7:30 AM

The walk will travel down Broad Street, turn onto Sellers, stop at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, and return to Station 1.

Everyone is welcome to join us. Come walk alongside our first responders as we remember September 11, 2001.

Jefferson Street is currently CLOSED at the railroad due to a downed power line.

Please avoid the area, use an alternate route, and use caution while traveling.
