Drew Central Elementary Drew Central Elementary is a PK-4 school with approximately 400 students.

The school is located in Monticello, Arkansas, adjacent to the University of Arkansas campus. Most of our students live outside the city limits of Monticello and within Drew county.

DCE is incredibly proud to partner with the UAM School of Education to offer this unique, hands-on learning experience for future educators! ❤️🏴‍☠️

Opening our doors to UAM teacher candidates gives them the opportunity to take what they are learning at the university level and put it into practice alongside our amazing DCE educators and students. At the same time, our students benefit from even more intentional literacy instruction, encouragement, and support.

We are excited to welcome Crystal Grimes and her Teaching Literacy students to the DCE campus this fall as we work together to help prepare the next generation of educators.

We are so thankful for our UAM partners and their willingness to think outside the box with us. This partnership is a wonderful example of what can happen when schools and universities work together with a shared goal—creating opportunities and changing futures for both today’s students and tomorrow’s teachers!
