Friday 28th is the last day to pay 2025 Land Taxes before they go to the Landsale on Monday August 31st. The final printing of the delinquent taxes will be in the Lawrence County Press Today August 26th.

Thanks to the Supervisors Mikell Sandifer, DeLane Ervin, Glenn Ard, Stanley Stephens and Kenny Ray Magee, the Lawrence County Tax Office is getting a much needed paint job and new flooring. With that new paint job we want to hang older pictures of the county from the 1960's and back. If you have any please share them with us. You can upload them in this post or send them in messenger. We will use AI to clear them up and add color. Also, If you have any old picture frames you don't need we would love to have them, especially 8X10 and bigger. Thanks for all your help in making our county office something to be proud of.

Thursday is the last day to pay your 2025 land taxes before your name goes in the paper. There are always "HELPFUL NEIGHBORS" that are ready to let you know your name was in the paper. The last day to pay taxes before the sale is Friday August 28th. All taxes must be paid in cash or card, no checks will be allowed.

FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES:

The State of Mississippi requires that EVERY business located within its boundries purchase a yearly privelege license from the Tax Collector's office in which the business resides.

County privilege licenses are $20 a year for up to 3 employees and then $3 for each additional employee. A b**r license is an additional $35 after you are approved by the state for a liquor license. The license must be posted in a conspicuous place of the business or in his/her posession. If said business is located within the city limits then that license will be issued by that city.

Lawrence County sends out reminders every year to each business to pay their upcoming dues. If said dues are not paid then the county Sheriff has the authority to levy upon and sell the real and personal property of the person owing the taxes for payment of the amount therof, with added damages, penalties and cost of entering and executing the warrant.
