Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrests.

Chad Eric Sexton of Monticello, KY was arrested for leaving scene of accident-failure to render aid or assistance, operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st, no operators moped license.

Sexton was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Monticello man has been arrested on drug related charges and on active arrest warrants.

The Monticello man was a fugitive from justice that the United States Federal Marshall Service with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff Office, and the Monticello Police Department attempted to located last week which were unable to locate at that time.

On September 9, 2026, at approximately 11:20 PM, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputies Zachary Bybee and Deputy Nick Bertram located the man in an upstairs bedroom at a residence located on the Frank Bell Road. Deputies was able to take the man into custody without any resistance. While conducting a search incident to the arrest Deputies located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine inside a drug paraphernalia item.
Deputy Bybee charged and arrested Charles W. Bailey of Monticello, KY. for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputy Bybee also served and arrested Bailey on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charges of assault-1st degree (complicity), assault-2nd degree (complicity), tampering with physical evidence (complicity), persistent felony offender-1st degree, persistent felony offender-2nd degree (enhanced) and on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for assault-4th degree (domestic violence), unlawful imprisonment-1st degree, and menacing.
Bailey was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

The Wayne County Sheriff Office also arrested Alexander J. Stonewall of Monticello, KY. on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay child support as ordered.
Stonewall was released from custody after posting a Bond.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrests.

On September 8, 2026, at approximately 7 PM, while on a regular patrol in the Missouri Hollow area of Wayne County Deputies Brad Tucker and Nick Bertram observed an altercation taken place in the middle of the roadway between several individuals. While speaking with all of the individuals on scene about the altercation the Deputies learned this had been an ongoing issue of harassment with a prior assault. One of those involved made a statement that he was going to put them in the ground.

Deputy Tucker then charged and arrested Christian E. King of Monticello, KY. for terroristic threatening-3rd degree.

On August 25 2026, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy Allen Cash responded to a theft of a four-wheeler from a location on Kentucky Highway 200. Deputy Cash also received a call on the same date of an four-wheeler being abandoned behind a building in the Murl Community. This four-wheeler was identified by the owner as the one stolen from him. The four-wheeler had received a considerable amount damage including having broken parts and the plastic body being partially burnt. After receiving video footage of the theft Deputy Cash was able to identify the suspect. Deputy Cash then obtained a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for Ryan Jahnke. On September 8, 2026, at approximately 10 PM, Deputy Cash served and arrested Ryan Jahnke on the Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest at his residence on Missouri Hollow Road on the charges of criminal mischief-2nd degree, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition.

Also, on September 8, 2026, at approximately 8 PM, Deputy Nick Bertram arrested Jeremy Moore of Monticello, KY. at his residence on Limestone Street on a Laurel County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for flagrant non-support.

Sheriff Tim Catron arrested Stephen Smith of Monticello, KY. on a Wayne County District Court Forthwith Order of Arrest.

King, Jahnke, Moore, and Smith were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Monticello man has been arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance.

On September 7, 2026, at approximately 11 PM, Deputy Nick Bertram with the assistance of Monticello Police Officer Valis Smedley went to a residence located at 218 Elm Street to serve an active Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest on a Homer Hunley with the warrant being associated with drug trafficking. When the front door was open to the residence Deputy Bertram noticed Hunley sitting on a couch and then observed Hunley throwing items behind the couch. Deputy Bertram then took physical control of Hunley placing him under arrest for the active arrest warrant. Deputy Bertram then retrieved the items Hunley attempted to conceal. These items were a plastic baggie containing a crystal like substance suspected to be methamphetamine with an approximately weight of 7.4 grams and a set of digital scales.

Deputy Bertram charged and arrested Homer Hunley of Monticello, KY. for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence. Hunley was also served / arrested on the Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for Arraignment on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and persistent felony offender-1st degree.

Hunley was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrests.

Matthew Ragan of Monticello, KY. was arrested for fleeing or evading Police-3rd degree, possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (drug unspecified), and possession of ma*****na. Ragan was also arrested on 2 Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrants of Arrest for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, harassment, and assault-1st degree.

Christopher K. Branscum of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant of Arrest for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and persistent felony offender-1st degree. Branscum was also arrested on 4 Wayne County Circuit Court Warrants of Arrest for Probation Violation and failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine).

Ragan and Branscum were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County man has
been arrested after an investigation conducted by Deputy James Barnett of
sending s*xual type messages/photos to an underage female.

On August 24, 2026, Deputy Barnett received the complaint from a family
member of the juvenile victim and receiving the juvenile’s cell phone.
Deputy Barnett then began his investigation. Once locating the suspect in
this case Deputy Barnett conducted an interview and was able to obtain the
cell phone that was used by the suspect to send the s*xual type text
messages/phots to the juvenile. These messages began back on August
15,2026, with numerous text messages and pictures were sent to each
other.

At 4:26 pm, on August 24, 2026, Deputy Barnett charged and arrested
Shawn E. Lawhorn of Monticello, KY. for 2 counts of possessing matter of
s*x performance of a minor (greater than 12 but less than 18 years of age),
and procuring or promoting a use of a minor by electronic means. Deputy
Barnett’s investigation is continuing with the cell phone being sent to ROIC
Agency to obtain any deleted evidence.

The Wayne County Sheriff Office also made the following arrests.

Sandi J. Stringfield of Somerset, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County
District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the
underlying charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of
alcohol.

Timothy M. Kelley of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County
Circuit Court Warrant of arrest for failure to appear for a Child support
Hearing.

Stringfield was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center with Kelley
being released from custody after posting a Bond.

Douglas C. Monday of Nancy, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for assault-4th degree.

Monday was released from custody after posting a Bond.
