The district we serve consists of the Village of Monticello and the Town of Thompson in Sullivan County, New York.In addition to handling over an average of 1000 calls per year, The M

Twenty-five of our members are trained New York State Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).We strive to provide the highest level of fire protection, fire safety education, and emergency medical service to our community, while also striving for improved productivity and cost effective use of our resources. The Monticello Fire Department is located at 23 Richardson Avenue in a modern firehouse. Today Members of the Monticello Fire Department along with members from the Bloomingburg, Callicoon, Fallsburg, Lumberland, Port Jervis and Rock Hill Fire Departments trained to get certified on the use of their UTV’s and trucks with trailers. This was an all day class that these 43 members of the fire service attended to be better prepared for any emergency requiring the use of this equipment. Thank you to our instructor Charlie Brundza from McNeil & Co. for spending the time with all of us. We would also like to thank the Town of Thompson Town Board for allowing us to use the trail system at the East Mongaup Park for this training. Great job done by all!!

PSA: This morning, the Monticello Fire Department along with multiple EMS and police agencies will be conducting our annual Prom Demo Extrication at the Monticello High School. We will be starting at 9:30am. This is a mock scenario that may cause a disruption to traffic coming in and out of the high school. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We thank the Monticello Central School District for allowing us to do this once again.
