🦺 The City understands the frustration with the timing of the ongoing street work, particularly over the holiday weekend.

This investment is being completed through an INDOT Community Crossings Matching Grant, which covers 80% of the project cost. Due to the contractor’s schedule and delays caused by recent weather, milling needed to begin August 31, with asphalt paving scheduled to begin September 8.

While construction is inconvenient, the City is grateful for the opportunity to complete these much-needed street improvements while saving Monticello taxpayers more than $655,000 through the INDOT grant!!

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this work is completed.

Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend 🇺🇸

🏌️‍♂️Last Saturday, I again had the honor of helping kick off the Remembering Our Fallen Tribute Golf Outing at our beautiful Tippecanoe Country Club by leading the event in prayer.

My friend George Coccaro, along with many others, successfully raised over $6,100 with the help of 92 golfers!

❤️The funds will be split between the Indiana Veterans’ Home and the White County Veterans Treatment Court.

A special shout-out to our friends at American Legion Post 502 and Post 485 for their continued support and dedication to our Veterans and community.

Individuals, groups like these, and a community like OURS truly can—and do—make a difference.

God bless our Veterans, and God bless America. 🇺🇸

Another successful week of great conversations.Very Thankful!

❤️I’m looking forward to revisiting with more of YOU at your front door and continuing to share OUR team’s accomplishments over the last couple of years, along with my vision for another term as your Mayor.

🤍I promise you this: no one will work harder for our community. I will continue bringing a common-sense approach to City Hall—one shaped by the experience of a small business owner who understands the challenges, opportunities, and values of our community.

💙I’m grateful for your support, your conversations, and the opportunity to continue earning your trust!

Powerful heavy equipment and humble hand tools are all needed to get the job done, but neither is more important than the incredible can-do attitude of the crew helping our team deliver YOUR downtown Riverwalk.

Mother Nature has thrown a few curveballs our way, but the commitment to getting this job done and serving YOU—our community— couldn’t be any stronger. 💪🏼🇺🇸

We’re going to keep working, keep pushing forward, and get it done!

We’ve all experienced the inconvenience of a power outage lasting a few hours, or even a day. But what our friends, families, and fellow Hoosiers have experienced over the past several days- going on weeks in some cases has been unprecedented.

To all the hardworking linemen/utility crews, brave first responders, and state employees working long hours in difficult conditions to find solutions and restore power — thank you. Your dedication and heroic efforts do not go unnoticed.

Please join me in keeping all of our fellow Hoosiers in our thoughts and hoping for solutions and restored power very soon. 🙏🇺🇸

Street Superintendent Frank and his team have made another big impact on our community this year. Together, they’ve installed more than 2,500 sq ft of new sidewalks, creating safer, more convenient, and beautiful pathways for everyone to enjoy.

The best part? Frank just told me they’re not finished yet, with plans for several hundred more sq ft before the season is over.

Great job, Frank and the entire Street Department! Thank you for making our community safer, more accessible, and more beautiful one sidewalk at a time. 👏🇺🇸

Great communities can be built on great partnerships. Monticello is truly blessed to have partners like AMVETS Post 91, and their one-in-a-million Commander, Don Williams.

❤️Last week was another incredible example of that generosity as AMVETS Post 91 presented $45,000 towards our community in donations of which $15,000 went directly to our Parks Department. This gift will help continue investing in the places where our families gather, our children play, and our community comes together.

🤍On behalf of the City of Monticello, I was honored to accept this generous donation alongside some team members Clerk-Treasurer Shanda Cortez, MRC President Tracy Davidson, Parks Superintendent Mitch Bilyue, ADA Director Diane Bunnell and ADA Board Member and Pastor, Mark Newman.

💙The truth is, communities don’t become great by accident. They become great because of organizations and individuals who care enough to invest their time, resources, and hearts into making them better. We are incredibly fortunate to have AMVETS Post 91 as one of Monticello’s most dedicated partners.

Thank you, Don, and thank you to EVERY member of AMVETS Post 91. Your service to our nation is deeply appreciated, and your continued service to our community is nothing short of extraordinary. We are grateful for your generosity and proud to call you our partners. 🇺🇸
