On Tuesday evening, we celebrated a major milestone for our new firefighters as they received their Pro Board National Firefighter I Certifications.

Since beginning the program in February, these dedicated volunteers have invested hundreds of hours in classroom instruction, hands-on training, studying, and practical evaluations to earn this nationally recognized certification. Their commitment, perseverance, and hard work reflect the dedication required to serve their communities safely and effectively.

The Fire Department of Montgomery Township was proud to host this year's Firefighter I program, which brought together cadets from Wissahickon Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Chalfont Fire Company, North Penn Volunteer Fire Company, Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company, Fort Washington Fire Company No. 1, Colmar Volunteer Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, and the FDMT.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE CADETS ON THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS! We look forward to seeing them continue to grow in the fire service and serve their communities with pride.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Bucks C.C.C. - Department of Public Safety Training & Certification, all of the instructors, and the many chiefs and officers who supported these cadets throughout the program. Their time, mentorship, and commitment played a vital role in the success of every student.

This past weekend, our volunteers spent two days sharpening their vehicle rescue skills through hands-on training designed to prepare them for real-world emergencies.

Training covered scene size-up and hazard control, vehicle stabilization techniques, rescue airbags, hydraulic rescue tools, vehicle anatomy, and the safe transfer of patients to EMS. Members gained hands-on experience with the extrication process using real-world rescue scenarios.

A special thank you to Safety Officer and Instructor Grunmeier and Engineer/Firefighter Kerr for teaching the class on Saturday and Sunday and sharing their years of knowledge and experience.

We would also like to thank Syrena Towning of Montgomeryville for providing the vehicles that allowed our firefighters to train in realistic conditions.

The commitment our volunteers make to ongoing training ensures we are prepared to provide the highest level of service to our residents and mutual aid partners when they need us most.

Interested in serving your community and learning valuable lifesaving skills? We're always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team. Stop by the station or send us a message to learn more.

We also want to thank our Career Staff Montgomery Twp. Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4890 for covering the township and answering calls so our volunteer members could enjoy a well-deserved evening together.

Most importantly, THANK YOU to all of our volunteer members for your dedication and service to our department and community. We appreciate everything you do!

πŸš’ Pump II Operations Practical Training πŸš’

On Saturday members of the FDMT completed the hands-on practical portion of their Pump II Operations class. Students practiced drafting from a pond, operating as the supply engine during relay pumping operations, and supplying our Tower during attack operations. These evolutions reinforce critical water supply, pump operation, and teamwork skills that are essential on the fireground.

We are proud of our members' commitment to training and continuing education as we strive to provide the highest level of service to our community and our mutual aid partners.
