We regret to share the sad news of the death of Michael Halbert on June 6. Michael enriched Alabama’s commemoration of the bicentennial of the Marquis de Lafayette’s 1825 tour with his engaging portrayal of the guest of honor during events at Fort Mitchell, Montgomery, Cahaba, and Mobile. He was a delight to have at our festivities at Lucas Tavern as we celebrated Lafayette's triumphant return to America last April. He will be sorely missed!
