If you rent lodging or accommodations in Alabama, you may be required to collect and remit lodgings tax. This may include:

🏨 Hotels, motels, and inns
🏡 Cabins
🏕️ Tourist camps
🚐 Certain RV or camping spaces

📍 State lodgings tax rates vary by county, and additional county or municipal lodgings taxes may also apply.

🚛 Commercial license plate update!

Beginning October 1, 2026, existing commercial registrants will receive a new five-year metal license plate at renewal if their current plate has been in use for five years. During renewal periods when a new metal plate is not issued, registrants will receive a validation decal instead.

Current designs will remain in use for the affected commercial plate categories.
