๐Ÿ”ฅ Burnout is real, and it can affect anyone, including our Service Members, Veterans, Military Spouses, and Families. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

National Guard life comes with unique challenges. Balancing military duties, civilian careers, family responsibilities, deployments, training schedules, school activities, finances, and everyday life can become overwhelming over time. Sometimes we become so focused on taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves.

โš ๏ธ Signs of burnout may include:
๐Ÿ˜ด Constant exhaustion, even after rest
๐Ÿ˜  Increased irritability or frustration
๐Ÿ’” Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected
๐Ÿง  Trouble concentrating or making decisions
๐Ÿ“‰ Loss of motivation or enjoyment in things you once loved
๐Ÿšซ Withdrawing from family, friends, or coworkers
๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Increased anxiety, stress, or feelings of hopelessness

Burnout does not mean weakness. It means your mind and body may be asking for support.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Check in on your battle buddies, spouses, children, coworkers, and yourself. Sometimes a simple conversation can make a huge difference.

๐Ÿค Remember, you are never alone. Resources and support are available.

Skye Asti and Jason Smith from Florida Springs met with members of the Alabama National Guard and the incredible team at Carastar Health in Montgomery to discuss collaboration and ways we can better support both our MVFR community and the community as a whole during times of crisis.

Thank you to Cleo and Donna for the warm welcome and tour of the crisis center! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty will never be forgotten.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a time to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything to defend them. We also recognize and honor the families who carry the legacy of their loved ones every day.

As we gather with family and friends, let us take a moment to remember our fallen heroes and the sacrifices made on behalf of our country.

โค๏ธ We remember.
๐Ÿค We honor.
๐Ÿ’™ We will never forget.

From our Alabama National Guard Family Programs team, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’š May is Mental Health Awareness Month ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿง

Mental health affects everyone, Service Members, Veterans, spouses, children, and families. Military life can bring unique challenges including deployments, stress, frequent change, financial strain, grief, anxiety, and isolation. It is important to remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Signs someone may be struggling can include:
โš ๏ธ Changes in mood or behavior
โš ๏ธ Withdrawal from family and friends
โš ๏ธ Difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much
โš ๏ธ Increased anger, sadness, or anxiety
โš ๏ธ Loss of interest in activities
โš ๏ธ Talking about hopelessness or feeling alone

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available. You are NEVER alone.
