A special thanks to National Guard Bureau Vice Chief General Tom Carden, Romania Deputy Chief of Defense Lieutenant General Iulian Berdilã and Romania Defense, Military, Air and Naval Attaché Brigadier General Florin-Vasile Tomiuc for productive discussions and a commitment to the State Partnership Program.

Our Command Team continues to invest in the development of our force at every level!

CSM Bailey and I recently engaged directly with students in the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Course and the Company Commander and First Sergeant Pre-Command Course. These courses reinforce the critical role leaders play in building ready, disciplined, and capable formations.

We challenged our Soldiers and Airmen to think critically about leadership and refocus on basic combat skills. Our strength as an organization starts at this level, and what we observed at Fort McClellan Training Center gives us a lot of confidence in where we are heading.

Developing leaders remains central to our readiness—ensuring the Alabama National Guard is prepared to respond, support, and succeed whenever called.

Last week, I was honored to join the Alabama Military Stability Foundation for their Military Appreciation Day Ceremony at the Alabama State House. As I mentioned in the Joint Legislative Session, ultimately our faith sustains us in difficult times, but I find an abundance of hope in the leadership of this great state who are committed to supporting the extraordinary service and sacrifice of our men and women. I take great pride in leading and serving alongside the most committed and talented force in our country—Alabama’s Soldiers and Airmen. Their service to our state and nation is exemplary.
