đź”’ Safety Starts at the Door

Every day, our Montgomery ISD Police Department officers conduct exterior door checks across every campus - ensuring doors are closed, locked, and secure. These proactive safety measures are a simple but powerful way to protect our students and staff each day.

Because in Montgomery ISD, safe schools build a strong community.

🛡 Keeping Our Schools Safe — Together 🛡

As a new school year begins, safety is on everyone’s mind. That’s why we want to make sure you’re familiar with Montgomery ISD’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP) — our shared safety language:

HOLD – In Your Classroom or Area
SECURE – Get Inside. Lock Outside Doors
LOCKDOWN – Locks, Lights, Out of Sight
EVACUATE – To a Stated Location
SHELTER – State the Hazard and Safety Strategy

When we all understand these terms, we can respond calmly and work together to keep our school community safe. đź’™

NATIONAL POLICE WEEK 2025: HONORING AND REMEMBERING OUR FALLEN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Montgomery ISD – Again this year, communities across the United States will honor and remember those law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the family members, friends and fellow officers they left behind.

In honor of National Police Week, Montgomery Independent School District will “Honor and Remember the Standing and the Fallen” law enforcement officers across the United States who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the family members, friends and fellow officers left behind by lowering district and campus flags to half-staff throughout the week of May 12-16 and by observing a brief moment of silence, May 15, 2025, during campus announcements.

Montgomery Independent School District recognizes that each day when law enforcement officers don their uniform, pin on their badge, and report for duty, they make an extraordinary commitment to the citizens they serve: to safeguard lives and property, to protect the children and defenseless, the innocent against deception, weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against violence and disorder; and to respect the constitutional rights of all to liberty, equality and justice. Across our neighborhoods, school districts, and cities, they put themselves in harm’s way, hoping to return home safely to their families. On Peace Officers Memorial Day and during Police Week, Montgomery Independent School District celebrates the remarkable courage of our law enforcement community and honors the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their fellow Americans.

The names of all 345 fallen officers nationwide will be formally dedicated during the 37th Annual Candlelight Vigil to be held on the National Mall in Washington, DC, at 8:00 pm EDT on May 13, 2025.
