‼️ CHALK HILL SOA IS located in Tallapoosa County off Chalk Hill Road, north of Tallassee and south of the Lake Martin dam. It sits along the Tallapoosa River and Sougahatchee Creek. It’s across the river from Yates Lake WMA. It is 3,465 acres in total and split into 10 hunt units. There are over 40 food plots. It’s a mix of planted pines of various age classes and hardwood drains. The hunting opportunities include deer (archery, PW, and gun), small game and turkey. The deer antler restriction is that it must have 3 points (1-inch or longer) on one side.
‼️ SHELBY SOA IS situated 5 miles SW of Columbiana. It is an approximately 1,200-acre SOA that has both Camp Branch and Waxahatchee Creek traversing through it. The habitat ranges from upland pines/clearcuts to bottomland creeks. Limited quota hunts on certain days will be allowed for deer (archery, primitive weapon, and gun), squirrel, rabbit, and raccoon. The SOA consists of 3 units that will be assigned to hunters and their guests.
