Montgomery Police Department is partnering with TxDOT during the June 19 – July 6 impaired driving enforcement campaign to help keep our roads safe.

If your plans include alcohol, make a plan before you go. Choose a designated driver, use a rideshare service, call a friend, or stay where you are. One poor decision can have lifelong consequences.

Our officers will be conducting increased enforcement throughout the campaign period, focusing on impaired drivers. The goal is simple: prevent crashes, injuries, and fatalities before they happen.

Drive sober. No regrets.

Last night, we celebrated the graduation of our 6th Annual Citizens Police Academy at Pizza Shack, marking the completion of our largest class to date!

Over the past several weeks, participants have gained an inside look at the many facets of law enforcement and the daily operations of the Montgomery Police Department. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who made this program a success—our students for their commitment and engagement, and our instructors for sharing their knowledge and experience.

We also had the privilege of recognizing two of our Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS), James and Marylyn, for the countless hours they dedicate to supporting our department. Their commitment, along with that of all our VIPS, helps make our agency and community stronger. Thank you for consistently showing up, stepping in where needed, and serving alongside us.

Building strong relationships with the community is one of our highest priorities, and we are grateful for the opportunity to get to know the citizens we serve. Congratulations to our newest Citizens Police Academy graduates, and thank you to everyone who helps make programs like this possible.

The Montgomery Police Department participated in TXDOT's Click It or Ticket campaign from May 18 through May 31 to help keep our roadways safe and encourage seat belt compliance.

During the campaign, Montgomery officers conducted focused traffic enforcement efforts that resulted in:

• 70 Citations Issued
• 139 Warnings Issued

Seat belts remain one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce serious injuries and save lives in a crash. While the campaign has ended, our commitment to traffic safety continues year-round.

Thank you to everyone who helped make safety a priority. Remember: Buckle up every trip, every time.
