REMEMBRANCE • HONOR • GRATITUDE

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation.

We remember the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to help others.

As firefighters and first responders, we carry a special responsibility to remember the courage, selflessness, and dedication displayed that day. The men and women who answered the call on 9/11 demonstrated the true meaning of service—putting the lives of others before their own.

We also remember the families, friends, coworkers, and communities who continue to carry the loss.

Today, and every day, we honor their memory by continuing to serve our community with courage, compassion, and commitment.

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

Road Bond projects update for Precinct 2.
A little over a year into having the funding in place for the 19 projects and more than half are complete.

Road paving will continue during the day.

🔥 TIFMAS Deployment Update – Tanker 31 & Engine 36 🔥

Our crews continue to answer the call across Texas as part of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS).

🚒 Tanker 31 was originally assigned to Abilene before being reassigned to the West Fork Fire, just west of Junction. The crew spent the past five days working alongside firefighters from fire departments across the state, providing critical water supply for fire suppression operations. The crew drafted water from several stock tanks to support firefighting efforts on the 961-acre fire.

Yesterday, Tanker 31 was reassigned to Fort Davis, Texas, in the Davis Mountains. They are now assigned to the Webster Fire, where they will continue providing a reliable water supply to crews working to suppress the fire and protect the surrounding communities.

🚒 Engine 36 is also deployed and currently operating in Rocksprings, Texas. Working alongside several other fire departments, the crew is providing fire protection for Edwards County while local resources are committed to the ongoing wildfire response.

We are proud of our firefighters for stepping up to assist communities across Texas.

At the direction of Montgomery County Judge Keough, our office will activate the Emergency Operations Center at Level 2 beginning at 1:00 p.m. today. The EOC will remain activated until the threats associated with Tropical Storm Edouard have passed.

Our team will closely monitor conditions, coordinate with our public-safety partners and position resources to respond as needed. Please remain weather-aware and continue monitoring official sources for updates.
