🏎️📚 Book Buddies Hit the Racetrack! 🫧☀️

This week at Book Buddies, we read Where Do Racecars Sleep at Night? and then took the fun outside to Heritage Park!

Our littlest readers enjoyed some fresh air while putting their car-washing skills to work. 🚗💦 After our toy cars got good and muddy, the kids helped scrub them clean in our very own makeshift car wash! 🧽🫧

There’s nothing better than a story, a little sunshine, and some wonderfully messy hands-on fun! 💗

Thanks to all of our little Book Buddies who joined us this week. We can’t wait to see what adventure our next story takes us on! 📚✨

🌟 NEW TONIGHT AT MAPL: ADULTING ADVENTURES! 🌟

Nobody hands you an instruction manual for being an adult… so we’re going to figure it out together! 😂

Join us TONIGHT at 5 PM for the very first Adulting Adventures, a fun, judgment-free program all about the real-world skills we all need but may not have been taught, may have forgotten, or just want a refresher on!

🎮 Tonight, we’re kicking things off with Adulting: The Game Show! We’ll put your adulting knowledge to the test with fun challenges covering things like:

🧺 Laundry
💰 Budgeting & needs vs. wants
🍳 Kitchen basics
💼 Workplace situations
🏠 Everyday household know-how

🏆 There may even be a little friendly competition involved!

And YOU get to help decide where Adulting Adventures goes next! Have something you wish someone had taught you? Want help understanding credit, basic car care, cooking, sewing, job interviews, home repairs, taxes, meal planning, or something completely different?

Tell us! We’ll be collecting suggestions for future Adulting Adventures topics.

📚🐄 Book Buddies Had a Quacking Good Time! 🦆🍎

Yesterday at Book Buddies, we headed back to school with the barnyard crew from Click, Clack, Quack to School! 🏫📖

After enjoying our story together, our little Book Buddies made a yummy snack to go along with all the reading, giggles, and fun! ❤️

We love seeing our youngest readers get excited about books—and we especially love making storytime a little extra special with hands-on activities (and tasty treats!). 🥰

💗📚 **Remembering Dolly Parton: A Champion of Children & Books** 📚💗

Today, we join people around the world in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton.

Dolly will forever be remembered for her extraordinary music, unmistakable personality, generosity, and enormous heart. But here at Montgomery Area Public Library, we especially remember and honor her for something very close to our hearts: **her belief that every child deserves books.**

In 1995, Dolly created the Imagination Library to give young children free books and inspire a lifelong love of reading. What began in her home county in Tennessee grew into an extraordinary literacy program that has placed books into the hands and homes of millions of children around the world.

For librarians, parents, grandparents, teachers, and anyone who has ever watched a child's face light up when they receive a book of their very own, that is an incredible legacy.

Dolly understood that a book is so much more than paper and ink. A book can be a child's first adventure, a source of comfort, the beginning of a dream, or the moment they discover that an entire world is waiting for them.

Thank you, Dolly, for the music.

Thank you for the laughter.

And from all of us who believe in the power of books and reading, **thank you for helping generations of children dream bigger.** 💗

Your songs will continue to be sung.

Your books will continue to be read.

And your legacy will live on in every little reader you helped create.
