🎮📐 Summer Learning in Action at Flowers Elementary! 📐🎮

Students in Ms. L. Williams’ 5th Grade Summer Learning Class are combining mathematics, creativity, and problem-solving as they recreate a Fortnite Academy Base Blueprint using multiplication and fractions!

Through this engaging, hands-on activity, students are applying their understanding of multiplication concepts and fractional reasoning to design and construct detailed blueprints. This project challenges students to think critically, measure accurately, and use mathematical skills in a fun and meaningful way.

🏗️➗ By connecting math to a popular real-world gaming concept, students are discovering how mathematics is used in planning, design, and construction while strengthening their academic skills.

At Flowers Elementary, we believe learning is most powerful when students can make meaningful connections between the classroom and their interests.

☀️🎮 Summer Learning in Action at Flowers Elementary! 🎮☀️

Students in Ms. McCain’s 4th Grade Summer Learning Class are strengthening their math skills through engaging, hands-on activities that bring learning to life!

Students are building their foundational math facts by exploring the Identity Property of Multiplication and transitioning from paper-and-pencil concepts to concrete understanding through the use of physical models.

➗ Students are also learning how to break down larger multiplication facts using the Distributive Property and doubling strategies, helping them become more confident and efficient problem solvers.

🏗️📐 To extend their learning, students applied geometric and algebraic concepts to real-world design and architecture projects, demonstrating how mathematics can be used beyond the classroom.

Our Summer Learning Program continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to grow academically while engaging in creative and collaborative learning experiences.

🌟📚 Early Learners Building Strong Literacy Skills at Flowers Elementary Summer! 📚🌟

Our students in Mrs. F. Fleeton's Kindergarten class are actively engaged in hands-on literacy activities that are helping them develop foundational reading and language skills while having fun!

🔤 CVC Word Matching
Students matched picture cards to CVC words by identifying the beginning, middle, and ending sounds and blending them to read the words independently.

🎨 Letter Painting
Students painted and traced the letters F, J, X, and S to strengthen letter recognition and proper letter formation.

🎲 Sight Word Bingo
Students practiced recognizing and reading high-frequency sight words through an exciting game of Bingo.

🔠 Alphabet Bingo
Students identified letter names and sounds while building alphabet knowledge through interactive play.

🎯 Letter Naming Fluency Game
Students rolled dice and identified letters to increase automaticity and confidence with letter recognition.

🧲 Magnetic Letter Center
Students sorted, identified, and built the letters of the week (W, Q, K, and E) using magnetic letters to reinforce learning through hands-on exploration.

At Flowers Elementary, our youngest learners are developing the literacy skills they need for future success through engaging, purposeful, and interactive learning experiences every day!

🎨➗ Math is Art in 5th Grade at Flowers Elementary Summer Learning! ➗🎨

Our students in Ms. L. Williams’ 5th Grade Math Class are discovering that math and creativity go hand in hand!

Students are engaged in an Art-Based Composition Activity in which they use fractions and colors to create visual representations of equivalent fractions and greater-than and less-than relationships. Through this hands-on learning experience, students are strengthening their mathematical understanding while expressing their creativity through art.

At Flowers Elementary, we believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and fun. We are proud of our Mustangs for thinking critically, creating confidently, and making connections across subjects!
