History belongs to the intercessors…

Recently, I was discussing Louisiana v. FDA—the pro-life case now before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals—with Laura Allred of A Million Women. In our conversation, Laura shared a vital insight into what this case is really about.

In the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned in June 2022, the Biden Administration made a devastating move. In January 2023, the FDA permanently removed the in-person dispensing requirement for mifepristone—making abortion drugs available by mail across the country.

This set the stage for the conflict now before the court in Louisiana v. FDA. Louisiana banned abortion after Roe was overturned, yet abortion drugs can now be shipped through the mail into states where abortion is prohibited.

This is the most significant pro-life case since Dobbs. Mail-order mifepristone (also known as RU-486) is one of the most critical fields of engagement right now for everyone who cares about defending life in the womb and protecting women.

As Laura pondered the case, she declared: “Mail-order Mifepristone is death on delivery.”

What a statement. And it’s spot on. Let’s not mince words or diminish what this is really about. Abortion has gained access to our homes.

As I began praying over this, Jeremiah 9 took on a whole new relevance. God calls for the wailing women to come and weep over the nation. Why? Verses 20–21 make it clear—and the words are striking in light of what is happening today:

Hear, O women, the word of the Lord, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; teach to your daughters a lament, and each to her neighbor a dirge. For death has come up into our windows; it has entered our palaces, cutting off the children from the streets and the young men from the squares. (Jeremiah 9:20-21)

Then the thought hit me: Death has come into our homes too—through our mailboxes.

Most people do not yet understand that this case is happening—or what is at stake. That’s why we must gather for prayer and intercession now.

You are invited—no, summoned—to gather with us in New Orleans for All To The Wall, September 5–7, as we contend in prayer for the pro-life case now before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Join Lou Engle, Laura Allred, me, and many others as we contend for LIFE in our nation.

As we continue to pray for a righteous decree from the US Supreme Court on mifepristone, a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous sent us this beautiful poem to share.

Here I Am - Anonymous

Mama here I am.
I know you weren’t expecting me.
But there is a reason I am here.
There’s a battle in your mind
About the future you will find.
And the enemy is filling you with fear.
There is a price to pay to carry me all the way
From darkness and bring me into the light.
It requires faith, hope and love
That the Father up above
will provide for you as He joins in the fight.
There are voices screaming I am not a person.
But my heart’s already beating close to yours.
Though you don’t hear my voice,
I pray you’ll make the choice
To let me grow and land on earthen shores.
For I am God’s plan for you from Heaven,
To teach you what it is to love and give.
When I look into your eyes,
It’s then you will realize
In your heart you always wanted me to live.

I’m being knit together every day by his hands. It’s He who placed me here inside your womb.
And all He is asking
And all He is tasking you
With now is that you will give me room
To grow into the person His thoughts have designed.
A work beyond what you can comprehend.
For I am just like you.
A womb is where you grew
And had your first beginning, not your end.

Yes, I am a gift you weren’t expecting.
But though I’m yet unopened you will see,
That God was not surprised.
I’m a blessing, now disguised,
That won’t limit you. I’m sent to set you free.
Our lives are intertwined in destiny.
I’ll hold your hand and that’s when you will see,
Together is what we were meant to be.

“A glimpse into my heart…

I’m still trying to put into words our experience yesterday as we stood in Jacksonville, FL praying outside this very small, very seemingly unimportant building. It is tucked away behind some much more important health facilities and a couple of churches. People are walking around going in and out all around it just carrying on with daily life. The surrounding buildings might on occasion have a loss of life but their purpose is ultimately to save or prolong LIFE. The area feels much like our home in Alabama. We pass hospitals daily with little to no thought of what is going on inside them. They are safe places built to help us. They are where we go for emergencies.

Then behind a fence and in a tiny parking lot a few cars sit. Inside women are given the information about how to terminate their 6 week or younger child. In the case they have passed into the restricted age limit they are given appointments to a sister facility in NY and helped to make flight arrangements so they have the option to terminate their child up to 24 weeks. Looking at the cars I am thinking did 2 lives go inside today? Will 2 lives come out that door? I’m hoping. I’m praying. Sadly this facility is here for 1 purpose and 1 purpose only. To end a LIFE.

I’m trying to pray but I feel like I can’t breathe. My eyes hurt. My chest feels like a ton weight has been placed on it. Being beside this building is not the same. I can’t just ride by or go about my business. People go in but so, so, many don’t come out. There are not other treatment facilities like this close by. There are not any in Alabama for me to see daily. I am not desensitized or numb to their purposes. I am instead in somewhat of a state of something like shock, horror, and anger. I have to pray for Holy Spirit to give me strength to even stand much less the words to say at that moment.

We finished our prayer time and I walked around in a daze for most of the day. I checked in on my teen daughters and I heard from my grown up girls.

Then Macy, who knew I was struggling, sent me a video. It is a video of our little baby Barajas around 24 weeks in the womb. His little heart beat steadily heard. His beautiful little life already being recorded. His mommy and daddy talking joyfully.

I stood in a Buccees gas station on the chip aisle and cried. Not a little cry. Tears full streaming down my face. That’s just how beautiful LIFE is.

There are almost no words to truly express the beauty of LIFE and almost none to truly express the grief of loss of LIFE.

We continue on in our mission.

We are Bound 4 Life!”
