Montgomery County Ambulance District Enhancing Patient Care with New Medical Equipment

Montgomery County Ambulance District is proud to announce the addition of new advanced medical equipment now in service across our ambulances. Our crews have recently completed training and have begun utilizing Sapphire IV Pumps and I-gel airway management devices to further enhance the level of care we provide to the community.

The Sapphire IV Pumps allow our paramedics to deliver medications and fluids with precise, controlled dosing. This technology improves patient safety and ensures medications are administered accurately during critical situations.

The I-gel airway device is an advanced airway management tool that allows both EMTs and paramedics to quickly and effectively secure a patient’s airway when they are unable to breathe adequately on their own. This device improves oxygen delivery and can be rapidly placed during life-threatening emergencies.

We would like to recognize Tim Kleinsorge, Mike Rosener, and Darryl Salazar for their outstanding work in programming the IV pumps and providing training to our crews. Their dedication and expertise helped make this important upgrade possible.

Since placing the Sapphire IV Pumps into service, they have already been utilized on more than five life threatening emergency calls, helping ensure accurate medication delivery and improving patient care outcomes.

Montgomery County Ambulance District remains committed to investing in training, technology, and equipment that allows our providers to deliver the highest level of prehospital care to the residents and visitors of Montgomery County.

🚑 A Milestone in Pediatric Emergency Care 🚑

The Montgomery County Ambulance District (MCAD) is proud to announce that we have achieved approval under Missouri’s Pediatric Prehospital Readiness and Excellence Program (Peds PREP) — the state’s official pediatric readiness recognition for EMS and fire agencies.

This prestigious designation confirms that MCAD meets nationally aligned standards set by the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) initiative and the National Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Project (PPRP). Approval reflects excellence in pediatric equipment, training, education, protocols, and community resources, all focused on ensuring the highest quality emergency care for children.

🏅 Montgomery County Ambulance District Earns Prestigious Peds PREP Approval for Pediatric Emergency Readiness
Montgomery City, MO – January 21, 2026
This recognition highlights our commitment to providing specialized preparation and evidence-based care to pediatric patients. From advanced pediatric equipment to ongoing hands-on training, our team is prepared to meet the unique needs of children in emergencies.
“This approval is a testament to our team’s dedication to continuous improvement and prioritizing the most vulnerable patients—our children,” said Will Burke of Montgomery County Ambulance District. “In rural communities like Montgomery County, pediatric emergencies require specialized preparation. Achieving Peds PREP status means our paramedics and EMTs are better equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to deliver life-saving care when every second counts.”

As part of this effort, MCAD recently hosted advanced pediatric emergency training with expert partners, including St. Louis Children’s Hospital, covering neonatal resuscitation, pediatric airway management, trauma care, tracheostomy and ventilator management, and accurate medication dosing.
MCAD proudly serves Montgomery County with 24/7 emergency ambulance response. This achievement reinforces our commitment to clinical excellence, community safety, and providing the highest standard of care—especially for our youngest patients.

💙 Thank you to our dedicated staff and partners who made this possible. With a special thank you to Tim Kleinsorge our Coordinator of Staff Education and Readines, Savanah Levinson and Jessica Arens our STARS Coordinators, Kali Salazar and Darryl Salazar our STARS Coordinator assistants. Their tireless hard work and unwavering dedication made this possible.
