We want to thank two of our local carpenters Dave Lynch and Chris Brookman, for coming out last night to help us secure the Domino’s Pizza building.

We also want to thank our local Lacrosse Lumber management team. They not only opened up so we could get the supplies needed, but they delivered the supplies on their flatbed truck.

This is the second time Dave has come out at night to help us secure a building. The first was when the front door of Casey’s was broken out a few years ago.

As neighboring communities, Chief Beasley and I spoke often. He was always eager to help, offer his assistance, and encouragement. Our condolences go out to his family and to the City of New Florence.

It was another hot one, but we made it. So thankful we live in an area where these type of events still occur.

A big thanks to the other agencies who assisted us with the parade, (Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri State Highway Patrol). We couldnt have done it without your help.

Just a reminder,

The City of Montgomery is charging anyone caught putting products in the fountain with “Property Damage”. This damages the pump and requires two city workers several hours to clean. Please don’t do it and if you see anyone doing so, please let us know.

I would like to start by apologizing for not posting something earlier today. I was at the cancer center at Mizzou all day, with a sick family member.

I also want to emphasize, we do not monitor Facebook, so I found out about all of this, when a citizen sent me screen shots of the conversation earlier this afternoon.

Having said all that, and as we
we’ve stated multiple times before, we do not discuss cases, especially open cases, in public. We do occasionaly give out generic information, to the media, in the form of a PC Statement.

Sheriff Allison is absolutely correct, this is our case, they only assisted.

I assure you this case was handled with care and the suspect is still on a “No Bond” hold on those serious charges.

If the victim has questions, my door and the City Administrator’s door is always open. If anyone else has questions, the same invitation is always extended, but we are limited on what we can say.

I will say this!

Body Camera footage does not lie.

If we discover we dropped the ball, at any point, the buck stops with me and me alone.

Please let us do our jobs and continue to support the officer’s and Deputies.

The city emergency sirens were reportedly unable to be set off by the usual means, earlier this evening. When I was notified, I began immediately contacting other emergency city and county personnel. We have accessed the city backup system and have activated that plan, should there be a need to set off the city sirens. I was also informed the primary system is being looked at by qualified personnel.

Our department was honored to help welcome our Governor to Montgomery County / City earlier tonight. He was the main speaker and stayed to sign copies of his book. Thanks to all who made this event possible.
