The fire service is big in traditions and commemorating those that have gone before us. This year on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we did more than just putting the truck out front. Part of the department got up before the sun(even after an early morning call) and finished a commemorative stair climb. 49 times up(and back down) our hose tower gives us just over what those brave men and women climbed 25 years ago. Will it be a tradition is yet to be seen!

We may be miles away from New York City, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania, but today, we stand together as one nation.

The Montevideo Fire Department takes this day to reflect on the values of service and sacrifice that define our brotherhood. We honor those who ran toward danger while others ran away. Let us all take a moment today to reflect, to give thanks, and to unite.

Training Information:

The Montevideo Fire Department will be out in Montevideo tonight training on search and rescue techniques. There is no need to be alarmed if you see fireman and/or trucks out and about in the community. This is only a training.

$10,000 raffle winners will also be drawn and announced. Drawing will also be livestreamed on the MFD FaceBook page as well.
