This morning, Troop #28205 stopped by for a visit and generously dropped off some of their delicious Girl Scout Cookies for us to enjoy. We truly appreciate their thoughtfulness and kindness in thinking of Montevallo's first responders.

The Montevallo Police Department was honored to participate in this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics in support of Special Olympics Alabama.

After traveling through communities across Shelby County, the Flame of Hope arrived in Montevallo before continuing to Calera, marking the completion of this year’s Shelby County run.

We are proud to support the athletes of Special Olympics Alabama and the opportunities this incredible organization provides throughout our state.

🔥 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alabama 🔥

On Friday, May 29th, the Montevallo Police Department will proudly participate in the Shelby County leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run as we carry the “Flame of Hope” in support of Special Olympics Alabama.

Our portion of the run will begin at 12:00 PM at Montevallo City Hall, and we invite the public to come out and support the outstanding athletes of Special Olympics Alabama.

We are honored to participate alongside the Helena Police Department, Pelham Police Department, Alabaster Police Department, and Calera Police Department in this meaningful event supporting athletes across Alabama.

Torch Run Schedule:

• 9:00 AM – Helena City Hall
• 10:00 AM – Pelham City Park
• 11:00 AM – Alabaster City Hall
• 12:00 PM – Montevallo City Hall
• 1:00 PM – Concluding at Calera Community Center

Last night, we had the honor of attending an incredible evening hosted by Impact Montevallo, celebrating the students of the Leaders of Tomorrow program at their end-of-year recognition dinner.

These young men and women are truly impressive, and we are excited to see all they accomplish in the future.
