This Thanksgiving, our shift gathered around the table not just as coworkers, but as family.
Amid the hum of the station and the occasional radio traffic, we paused long enough to share a meal, laughter, and stories with those closest to us.
Holidays look a little different when you work in fire and EMS. We don’t always get to be home, but we’re reminded daily of what truly matters: the people who show up. The hands that help. The voices that encourage. The ones who answer the pager and the ones who answer our late-night vent sessions. The community that trusts us to care for them.
Gratitude isn’t just a feeling today — it’s a duty. A quiet acknowledgment that while the job can be heavy, we don’t carry it alone.
So today, we say thank you to:
• Our families, for sharing us when the tones drop.
• Our coworkers, for steady hands on scene and steady hearts in the kitchen.
• Our volunteers, for sacrificing dinners, sleep, and holidays to serve something bigger than themselves.
• And to the entire Montesano community, for welcoming us, supporting us, and reminding us why we do what we do.
If this kind of camaraderie speaks to you — the kind that turns strangers into teammates and teammates into kin — come see us. We’re always looking for more helpers, more hearts, more grit. Volunteer applications are waiting at the station.
From our table to yours, we wish you a safe, happy, and deeply fulfilling Thanksgiving.
Take care of one another. Hold your people close. And help us keep this wonderful community safe.
🦃🍂 Happy Thanksgiving, Montesano. Stay safe out there. 🚒❤️
