Providing safe, reliable wastewater service for our community requires long‑term planning and ongoing investment in the system we all depend on. Like other agencies across California, Monterey One Water is facing rising costs related to delivering wastewater service, including:

▪️ Energy, materials, and workforce investments
▪️ Aging infrastructure in need of repair or replacement
▪️ Complying with evolving state and federal regulatory requirements

To meet these rising costs and continue delivering reliable wastewater service for years to come, M1W has proposed rate changes.

Turning Food Scraps Into Clean Energy!

Discover how Monterey One Water turns 51,000 tons of local food scraps into clean energy each year!

Food scraps diverted from landfills are co-digested with wastewater solids to produce even more biogas, which can be used to generate local energy. Together, we’re helping California meet its climate goals and building a greener, more resilient region for everyone.
