Yesterday we had a great training with the Highland County Schools 4-H Club focused on farm equipment safety and what to do during an emergency on the farm. With Highland County being one of the most rural counties in the Commonwealth, it can take time to get patients to definitive care, which makes knowing the basics of lifesaving care even more important. We appreciate the opportunity to spend time with the community and help educate the next generation. Thank you for having us!

Yesterday we held our annual staff meeting and had a great day of training with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office , and Highland County Volunteer Rescue Squad. Emergency crews worked through a series of scenarios that really highlighted the challenges we can face in rural EMS, and later we wrapped it all up with lunch from Highlander Monterey.

Even though he couldn’t make it, Chief Kosenko was still keeping a watchful eye on things. Get well soon, Chief!

Also a thank you to the folks at Allegheny Mountain Radio for participating and letting us use your building for training!
