‼️ Brightwood Science Team Comeback ‼️

Congratulations to Brightwood Science Teams for winning first place 🥇 at this year’s MKHS Science Field Day and bringing the trophy back to Brightwood. Science Field Day is a STEM competition held by MKHS United Sciences where teams of 6th-8th grade middle school students from Alhambra Unified School District and San Gabriel Valley compete in a total of 22 STEM based events. Brightwood Science Teams won 62 medals across multiple events at the Science Field Day and won 1st place overall at the school level.

Also, in March of this year, for the first time in Brightwood history, two Brightwood teams consisting of 6th-8th graders competed at the 2025 Science Olympiad Tournament (Los Angeles Regional Division B - Middle School). Science Olympiad is one of the premier STEM competitions in the nation where teams of 15 students work together to compete in 23 events ranging from biology and the life sciences, earth and space science, chemistry, physics, engineering, and technology. Brightwood placed 7th overall at the school level, one place away from advancing to State, and Brightwood students won 10 medals across multiple events.

We are so proud of our Bengals!

We would like to recognize and make a big shout out to our teacher advisors, Mr. Kawasaki and Mrs. Ng, our administrators, and all the volunteer coaches for their dedication, hard work, and guidance to the students. Brightwood students couldn’t get this far without them.

We also would like to thank the Brightwood PTA for supporting our Brightwood Science Teams. All your support made a difference!

🚴‍♂️ BMX MADNESS HIT OUR SCHOOL! 🚴‍♂️

Today’s assembly was next-level as Robert Castillo’s BMX Freestyle Team rolled in and absolutely shredded it on campus!

We even got to witness jaw-dropping tricks from none other than X Games medalist & Olympic hopeful DANIEL SANDOVAL! 🥇🌟

And guess what? Some of our very own Brightwood teachers stepped up and risked their lives (kinda 😅) by joining the action

Huge shoutout to the team for bringing the energy, the flips, and some powerful life lessons along the way 🙌
