こんばんは!man it’s been a heck of a year and now we entered a brand new year and hope this year will bring us good fortune!

Yesterday was New Years Day and what better way to celebrate it than go to our local Little Tokyo and enjoy the festivities that brings the new year!

This year will be year of the tiger! So anyone that was born on the tiger will be extra lucky! in Japan they celebrate with the Chinese zodiac and each year represents One of the 12 animals. So a couple of us club member got to see the few celebrations and places.

Please enjoy the many pictures at one of our club members took and please have a wonderful and great year 2022!

こんばんは everyone! so i am late to the celebration of the setsubun festival that happen on February 2, but we can discuss what it is about!

Basically Setsubun is a fun Japanese festival celebrated the day before the first day of spring (on February 3rd). Families celebrate by throwing roasted soybeans outside the door of their house to chase out the oni (naughty ogres or spirits). It is a fun and family oriented festival that kids and adults love~

if anyone wants to know more in detail of this fun celebration here are a few links and videos to enjoy!
