The mass shooting last evening in our neighborhood took innocent lives, physically injured others, damaged families and love ones, and scared our community and city. The senseless act of violence and egregious murderous actions are unforgivable.

We have a strong and loving community here in Monterey Park. This is the time to show who we are at a time of personal tragedy and sorrow. We need to help those families who have suffered great and unimaginable losses and to help and support each other emotionally. We need to show the strength and decency of our community to each other. To reach out with a helping hand and be there in the moment of need. This is what defines us, this is what it means to be a community.

Please pray for the victims and their families, pray for the city to recover and pray for all the residents in Monterey Park to be strong and be united. I would like to take this time to appreciate our Law Enforcement, LA Sheriff, FBI, and City Staffers especially our City Manager for staying up the whole night working for all of us. Monterey Park, please stay strong and stay safe during this difficult time, we are all here to support one another! 🙏🏻💪🏻
