Beyond the Classroom → Austin, Texas ✈️

Students in the MS in Business Analytics, MS in Digital Marketing Analytics, and MS in Human Resource Analytics programs recently traveled to Austin for the MS Analytics Experience!

Through company visits, hands-on challenges, and conversations with professionals from Curios, International Accelerator, SXSW, and Austin’s innovation ecosystem, students explored how analytics, AI, and emerging technologies are shaping organizations and driving real-world decision-making. 📚

Feliciano School of Business adjunct professor Francine McKenna (Accounting and Finance) was recently quoted in CFO Dive on proposals to reduce the frequency of corporate financial reporting.

McKenna discussed potential concerns for investors, including increased reliance on non-GAAP metrics and reduced transparency into company performance.

Dr. Chatterjee highlighted how credit card companies typically provide cardholders with “more value” when rewards are redeemed for travel, offering insight into how consumers can make the most of their credit card rewards.

Dr. Esther Kim, Associate Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism, was recently featured in NorthJersey.com discussing how rising fuel costs are influencing travel decisions among New Jersey residents.

Dr. Kim explained that budget-conscious travelers are often the first to scale back their plans, as they rely more heavily on low-cost travel options and have less flexibility to absorb rising expenses.
